I am Wyn, and I bring you one Major Kaidan Alenko, from the Mass Effect series of games. He's turning up right after the credits roll on the extended cut of ME3, so basically his plans to go home post-Reaper War, find out what the hell happened to Commander Shepard and maybe go drink celebratory beers on some surviving bit of Vancouver waterfront have been abruptly derailed by... waking up in the middle of another war.
He's a mid-30s futuristic soldier-type, and while his freaky biotic powers are offline he's got enough tech skills (and is kind've a giant nerd) to make himself useful on the Cetagandan side... at least until he starts learning more about the situation they're in and moral conflict starts ensuing.
