The laughter dies. He's quiet a moment, and then he lets out a breath. Shakes his head.

"No," he answers heavily. "I've learned how to recognize...unrealistic thinking. Irrational thinking. And I feel in some of the best mental health of my life." A hesitation, and then he acknowledges, "I guess we might be having a schizophrenic episode. Or I might be having it and hallucinating you. But...That doesn't exactly run in our family. We have other ways of being insane."
