Toska's slow to move to take the photograph when it's held out. It's surprising that anyone would give him anything, especially something as delicate as a piece of paper, so there's the inevitable puzzled look that he gives both Sonia and the picture. Oh, sure, his smile never really fades, it just becomes a slightly confused smile.
