We'll see is about as much as Kaidan had expected to get. Still, they'd have gotten actively curious about his medical scans eventually, and having been through one round of being a guinea pig to others' experiments before, it's better to be the guinea pig that has a faint chance of getting to see its own medical files, or at least pick up hints and clues. Kaidan's expression is resigned as he offers up another "Thank you, ma'am," before taking the cue to explain, and thus shift the subject.

"Ah, the Sudham-Wollcott Genetic Heritage Act, to be specific -- it got passed after we'd encountered alien biospheres, and then sapient non-human species, and people started worrying about what you could do with that. Enhancement of natural human abilities is fine, bringing in completely new ones isn't. I was ten at the time, so the, ah, finer points of the debate aren't exactly something I'm up on."
